We was flipping threw the tube tonight and stopped at the second half of UPN's show Top Model. Not a show I follow but it looked kinda intresting. The part we flipped on was the wanta be model's was at a photo-shoot called "Adam & Eve" and the girls was being painted up into a costume, but was perty much nude. Drama when one of the girls showed up late cuz she slept in and no one bothered to wake her, and another girl refused to get her picture taken nude possing provocitly with a male model.
At the end of the show it came time to cut one of the girls and it came down to the two who caused the drama. When asked why she refused to do the shoot Anna said, "It was not lady like and an image I want to project. I am just trying to be Christ Like". Bingo! You should of seen the eye rolls!! Needless to say they cut Anna and the message that came across to me is you can not hold on to values and want to be a top model. You have to comprise. I aplaude Anna, and if the judges had the guts to keep her, I would of been an avid watcher, but since they think you have to be a hoe to be a model and throw out your belifes then for sure not the show for me. This is what the media is telling our young girls parents!!
i guess the message they are protraying is if you don't feel comfortable posing like a slut then you're not top model material and that is so wrong. if anything she should have been top choice for having morals. i get really aggravated by the media's whole portrayl of what beauty is anyway, thus my decision to never enter madison into a beauty contest. i don't want her to think her looks is what makes her.
ReplyDeleteSadly, Virtue doesn't sell in our world. So, those who spend the money, call the shots. (literally and figuratively). I think that this type of abuse is what brought on Sodom and Gomorra. We all need to support folks who try to project a better image than the moneygrubbers want. Always encourage what is good, especially when children see these images.
ReplyDeleteI agree she should have been top choice too. I don't know what show this is, but I am sure young girls watch it and what sort of message does that send to them? Being good is stupid? Shame on the producers and shame on the other girls because if they didnt allow themselves to be treated that way it wouldn't ever happen.
ReplyDeleteThere are soooo many sides to this story. There are Christian virtues and there are what we are told are Christian virtues. I'm not speaking to posing in a sexy way like a jeans commercial, but I am speaking about nudity. If God made our bodies, why is it a sin for someone to see them in their natural awe and beauty? Sometimes the whole thing is so confusing.
