The Passion part 1
Video@AOL : News : ABC : Gibson's Passion Best viewing for broadband but I think you can watch it with reg AOL but it will take some time to load and buffer. I recomend everyone just see the movie yourself and form your own opion. And when you see those graphic images of Christ being beaten, whipped, dragged, and nailed on to the cross, remember,HE DID THAT for YOU,he loved you that much. Not seeing it yet, I have heard those who would say it is anti-Semitic and would help create even more racism. The biggest thing is it follows the book of Matthew's account of the last three days of Christ. And how and why he was crucified, showing how the Jewish leaders asked the romans to kill him, that is where the anti-Semitic theory comes from. But from all I have heard it is not in Mel Gibsons heart to cause racism, but to show the Life of Jesus and what he did, graphically, on the cross, to tell the truth and to maybe reach millions who would never have thought of Jesus as their savior. He paid for this film with almost all his own money I think there are much worse movies that could be boycotted.

How can it be anti-Semitic when Mary, his own mother and Joseph His adopted father were Jewish! I realize the fear is that there will be hatred of the Jews but that's just silly because everyone at the time there, except for the Romans, were Jewish. My best friend in the world is Jewish and she has no problem with this movie at all. I watched Mel Gibson tonight on TV and his intention is only to give glory to Jesus.
ReplyDeletethe media and hollywood show all kinds of movies that cause controversy and racism...."a time to kill", "white man's burden", "gangsta paradise", etc....so i don't see how showing a movie about Christ could be bad or cause contoversy. anyone who thinks so, just doesn't want ppl to learn about the sacrafice Jesus made for us all.
ReplyDeleteThis promises to be a very moving and powerful movie. Even the Pope said "it is as it was". :-) *lila*
