Choosing to postpone this rant..

I try and not let the negative ppl affect me and stay focused on the good in ppl but sometimes sticks and stones don't hurt as much as words do.  And it's not even just the words but the motives behind the words.

I could go into long details and a big post listing the offenders in my life and a big rant about why can't they JUST BE HAAPY FOR US.  Or how it hurts to hear an old friend even in jest say they don't like you anymore but prefer your husband (ie because I am an on fire Christian and not the old sinful wretch that I used to be). Or I could talk about how stressful it is working out the loan for buying the house and finding certain documents that are long gone into the missing box. (hint ppl.. save all your cancelled checks from paying your rent or download them and your bank statments, because the bank does charge you for them and file your important papers away promptly so you can find them for later) Oh and I really could go on and on about how the kids are really upsetting me with the crumbs on the floor and the attraction of all these ants and if we can't keep a nice house here what makes us think we can in a new one.. But instead I think I will just remember my favorite life verse and let God handle all those complaints and deal with those negatives in my life.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.

  1. Mary, anyone who would make the statement that they didn't like you anymore (even in jest) because of a religious convictions is no friend, and never was. If there is one thing I have learned in my life it is to respect the religious beliefs of others. No matter how we believe and by what means we demonstrate our beliefs is of our own choosing and is usually dictated by our own religion. Distate for someones religion shows ignorance, immaturity, and intolerance. The way we praise GOD is not the focus, the fact that we do praise GOD is. My Regards to you and your family. Bill.

  2. BTDT where a friend "liked" me better when I was drinking and doing all kinds of things that were harmful to me.  I mourned the loss of that friendship for so long, but then I realized that she was just one more unhealthy tie to the past.  It still hurts sometimes, but I just keep remembering that Jesus said we WOULD be persecuted for our faith.  (((Hugs)))  Gwynn

  3. People are people and that's a fact! lol. Glad you postponed the rant. Why not? If we focus on Philippians 4:8, we'll not be so frustrated anyway.  Hugs, hon.

  6. When I became a Christian back in Junior High my former best friend at the time decided she didn't like me anymore either and threatened to beat me up.  Well, I prayed for her.  By the end of highschool she was civil to me.  By the time I met her at the library many years later out of highschool I saw her with her little kids and by then she became a Christian too.  So, it might all work out in the end.  Maybe they'll come around.
