The Storms Of Life
I remember when the storm only loomed on the far horizon
But today the angry gale blows everywhere at full force...
The sky is dark and the lightning flashes dangerously
It is distracting many believers from the peace of their heart's source.
The sky is ominous with black and gray violently swirling clouds
Hurricane force winds are beating and ripping at our spiritual walls...
The lightning crackles and the thunder rumbles on in echo
Many believers are being shaken from their calls.
In the storm's midst stands the castle keep... the fortress of God
Where all who will come are welcome to enter in and to dwell...
It is the only place of refuge and real safety from the onslaught
A stronghold of God against the very powers of evil and hell.
Too many are outside watching the storm in hopeless fear
They do not understand that they are living by worldly feeling and sight...
The storm and its raging power has them completely overwhelmed
They are not fully trusting in God's overcoming righteousness and might.
Instead of focusing on God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
All they can see is the active presence of Satan...the enemy of souls...
Many's faith is being replaced with a bold pessimism and doubt
Far too many are losing sight of their heavenly eternal goals.
But you see, God will never be outdone and beaten by the evil one
God will ever stand true to His Word and pour out His Spirit upon all flesh...
His perfect mercy, grace, and love are still available to all
He is ever able and ready to save, revive, renew and refresh.
In these dark days we must do all we can to walk in the Light
We must not lean on the arm of flesh but totally lean on our God...
While walking through the prince of darkness's valley of the shadow of death
We can be assured that it is in Christ's footprints we trod.
Whatever may come remember that in Christ you are an overcomer
Remember that the accuser is a liar and the father of all lies...
That serpent Satan comes only to rob, kill, and destroy us
His speech is filled withinnuendoes, compromises, slanders, and alibis.
The old dragon knows his days are numbered and are almost over
He does not want to be eternally tormented in hell all alone...
He desires to hurt God by taking as many people with him as he can
He delites in bearing sour fruit from all his devilish seeds he has sown.
God offers mercy, grace, peace, love and salvation
He offers Himself as refuge for any who will come and dare to enter in...
He forgives sin and imparts the righteousness of Christ Jesus
All He asks is that you open your heart and ask His Son within.
From that point it is a daily walk of faith in Christ and His Word
A life of not giving in to all one will see with their physical eyes...
Or all that is felt with the touch or reasoned with the mind
It is a life that only on Christ it truly relies.
Behind the dark clouds and the whirling raging winds
Behind the flashes of lightning and the reverberating thunder...
The Son still shines from His throne in the splendor of heaven on high
Waiting for the Lord's Day to eternally render Satan's reign assunder.
Do not look to the left or to the right if you are following after Christ Jesus
Keep your eyes on the heavenly prize and keep looking up on high...
Keep your heart, your mind, and your spirit set on Christ like flint
Keep looking up toward heaven to Christ from where your redemption draws nigh.
Those hidden with Christ in the shadow of Almighty God
Need not fear the enemy and any of his evil wiles...
God is the Father, healer, and keeper of all those who trust Him
He deliverers His own out of every tribulation, trouble, and trial.
So the next time the darkness threatens to overtake you
And the heaviness and the pressure of the storm starts to crush and overwhelm...
When the lightning, the thunder and the winds are upon you
Just bow your knees and confess it is Christ at your ship's helm.
For His is the name above all names in heaven and in earth
It is faith faith in His name that Satan and his minions must flee...
There is no other name by which man must be saved
When you are set free in Christ Jesus you are indeed... free.
The United States of America is being buffeted with more storms than I can ever remember.There are thunder storms, hail storms, tornadoes, hurricanes and more. This is mirroring the intensifying storms in the spiritual realm. We must each know where we stand and when we have done all we can to stand...we must simply do that...stand. If we stand in ourselves, our works, or in the anything done with human hands we will be lost. We can only stand in the righteousness which we are allowed to wear through Christ Jesus! Hallelujah!

Yes its not just the weather or on a natural front. It seems to me as if its personal also. I mean as if There are all kinds of relational tensions more than ever lately. Its just like something is in the air. Lori
