A real quick rant..

MoveOn Demands Employers Give Paid Leave To Vote On Election Day -- GOPUSA

I am reading this and am thinking.. Who works from streight from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. when the polls are open??  There should be plenty of time in the day to get to the polls... and to ask your employer to pay for the time you take to go and vote.. seems a bit whinney to me.  I know some companys offer flex time so you can go to doc. apointments or your kids funtions.. if your company offers that use that. Or go on your lunch hour or after work or before work.  This article makes it sound like companys purpously hold employees back from using thier right to vote! WHAT EVER!  The only thing holding you back is YOU.  Yes I do believe there is a law stating your job can not prevent you from going and voting.. but no law saying they should pay you for it.

  1. everyone has lunch and I can tell you some may use the commute probelm Todd leaves at 5 am the polls here are open only 6 to 6. Todd works in Nicholasville early am and earlybefore the big rush it takes him an hour to get to work and an hour to get home. Its very hard for him to vote because of working in a nother town. But he takes off early if that is a day that he needs to be there his emplyer would not make him stay late. He is just going to have to miss that time worked. WE CERTIANLY DO NOT EXPECT HIM TO GET PIAD> if they paid him then  the next thing you know his employer would have some say in how he votes. SO no WE DO NOT expect he get paid to vote. Its a right. But yes we do have a time getting him to vote. But you can also do absetnee ballat if you know you cant  make it. Lori

  2. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON WHAT SO EVER FOR PEOPLE NOT TO MAKE IT OUT TO VOTE. IT SHOULD BE FIRST PRIORITY. I HATE WHEN PEOPLE COMPLAIN AND THEN YA FIND OUT THEY DIDN'T VOTE. I HAVE VOTED EVERY SINGLE YEAR AND ELECTION SINCE i WAS 18. EXCEPT LAST NOVEMBER. LOL
